이광훈 담임목사
Rev. Kwang Hoon Lee, Ph.D

이광훈 목사는 5대째 이어져 온 신앙의 유산 속에서 자라나, 어린 시절부터 말씀과 기도로 빚어진 믿음의 뿌리를 삶 속에 깊이 새겨 온 목회자다. 그는 인격적으로 하나님을 만난 신앙의 체험 위에, 성도를 사랑하고 교회를 세우며 다음세대를 믿음 안에 바로 세우는 일을 목회의 중요한 소명으로 품고 사역해 왔다. 또한 교회의 본질을 예배의 회복과 말씀 중심의 양육, 성도의 훈련과 공동체적 돌봄에서 찾으며, 시대의 변화 속에서도 교회가 세상을 향한 빛과 소금의 사명을 감당하도록 힘써 온 목회자다.
그는 한국과 미국에서 오랜 시간 목회와 신학교 사역을 하며 균형 잡힌 목회 역량을 쌓아 왔다. 켄터키중앙장로교회와 LA 열린문교회에서 새가족, 교구, 청년, 행정, 교육총괄, 수석부목사 사역을 감당하며, 이민교회의 전반적인 사역을 폭넓게 익혔다. 이후 서울 명지대학교교회 담임목사로 섬기면서 예배 회복, 온세대예배, AWANA, 신앙훈련, 새가족 정착 사역에 힘썼고, 장년과 다음세대가 함께 살아나는 건강한 공동체를 세우기 위해 헌신하였다.
그는 총신대학교 종교교육과와 총신대학교 신학대학원에서 수학하고, 미국 Liberty University에서 실천신학 Th.M., Southern Baptist Theological Seminary에서 기독교교육, 리더십과 행정을 전공하여 Ph.D.를 취득한 목회자이자 교육자다. 또한 국제개혁대학교 신학대학원(IRUS)에서 교수, 교무처장, 학생처장으로 섬겼으며, 대신대학교 교수로 교회와 교육, 교회행정과 목회 분야를 가르쳤다. 말씀과 교육, 목회와 행정을 아우르는 균형 있는 시각으로, 교회를 건강하게 세우고 다음세대를 준비하는 일에 헌신하는 목회자다. 지금은 LA 열린문교회 2대 담임목사로 사역 중이다.
Rev. Kwang Hoon Lee is a pastor raised within a five-generation legacy of faith, deeply rooted from an early age in a life shaped by the Word and prayer. Grounded in a personal encounter with God, he carries a clear sense of calling to love and shepherd the congregation, to build up the church, and to establish the next generation firmly in the faith. He understands the essence of the church to be found in the restoration of worship, Word-centered discipleship, the training of believers, and communal care. Even amid the changing times, he has faithfully labored so that the church may fulfill its calling to be the light and salt of the world.
He has developed a well-balanced ministry through many years of pastoral and theological service in both Korea and the United States. At Kentucky Central Presbyterian Church and LA Open Door Church, he faithfully served in a wide range of ministries, including new member care, district ministry, young adult ministry, administration, educational oversight, and as Senior Associate Pastor—gaining broad experience in the life and ministry of the immigrant church. He later served as Senior Pastor of Myongji University Church in Seoul, where he devoted himself to the restoration of worship, intergenerational worship, AWANA ministry, spiritual formation, and the integration of new members, striving to build a healthy community in which both adults and the next generation flourish together.
Rev. Lee studied Religious Education at Chongshin University and completed his Master of Divinity at Chongshin Theological Seminary. He also earned a Th.M. in Practical Theology from Liberty University and a Ph.D. in Christian Education, Leadership, and Administration from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. In addition to his pastoral ministry, he has served as Professor, Academic Dean, and Dean of Students at International Reformed University and Seminary (IRUS), and as a professor at Daeshin University, teaching in the areas of church ministry, Christian education, church administration, and pastoral leadership. With a balanced perspective that integrates the Word, education, ministry, and administration, he remains devoted to building a healthy church and preparing the next generation. He currently serves as the second Senior Pastor of LA Open Door Church.
