Vision for New Church

With the past, present, and future in mind for the Korean community in Los Angeles, LA Open Door Church purchased a lot for a church building that will serve as a town church for all communities in the heart of Los Angeles.

Through much prayer the following was purchased in the year 2000: A 58,000 square feet of space for education, mission, and community service center and a 126,000 square feet of open space. Located on Wilshire, adjacent to the MacArthur Park, the church will be built right in the middle of downtown and Koreatown.

In addition to worship and various church activities, the church will be used for concerts, weddings, various cultural events, conferences, that will benefit the community. We have all the approval from the city, including the plan check to begin the construction. Drawing out the distinctiveness of the town and commemorating the best immigrant church, Gruen Associates, our architecture firm, has flawlessly completed their design of the building. After we have secured the loan from ECCU, JD Diffenbaugh Construction Company is working on the construction.

   iii. Main Sanctuary: A contemporary 2,000 seat         sanctuary with a pipe organ, On Going
   iv. Fellowship Hall: 700-1000 seat fellowship          hall, On Going
   v. Indoor Gymnasium, On Going
